Honestly, I'd rather you tried, failed, and learned from the experience than not try at all. One of the reasons so few people write Teyla is because they "have no experience of being her" - they stick with what they know. Of course, then they never learn how to write her and the excuses just grow.

Yes, the story this is from is shamelessly R/K. LOL. Teyla makes a few appearances, though. But, geez. . .You're right about it sucking that Rachel Luttrell got pregnant right when the decided to do more with her character in the Season 4. *sigh*

I'll have to try to right something more original for Teyla soon. Also, I think that I've read so many other people's Teyla stories that's it's hard for me to find my own voice for her without feeling like I'm copying from someone else, ya know what I mean? Not to say I'm not up to it just because it's difficult. That's part of the reward of pulling it off.

Hmm. . .drawing her would be so much easier. I think I'll do that. :)

I suggest you start by copying. You'll find your own voice with a bit of practise. :)

I think you're right. It's just like when I was trying to find my own drawing style. I would copy the work of other artists that I liked. It worked out well, for me in the end. I'll have to look at some prompts and see what I can come up with.
