Enola Holmes S1 & S2: just because I want to.

Wouldn't mind seeing Wednesday, even though I've seen several criticisms of it wrt overall Addams Family depictions.

I'm kind of wishing I had people to share Advent with in a f2f way. Like a local Advent community. My church is not liturgical as a whole, and so there's not much by way of Advent thought.

So I don't know if this is an Aus vs US thing or just a personal oddity of my family.

We don't watch TV at family gatherings. I mean, we don't have Thanksgiving because we're Australian and...there's not really any reason to 'give thanks that the Americans welcomed foreign people coming to their shores and made them food', not to mention the whole problematic issues of the fact that the people who now loudly consider themselves 'Americans' no longer welcome 'foreigners' to their shores - probably because of what they did to the original Americans.

But I digress.

My family doesn't do TV. We sit around and...talk...to...each other? Catch up with what's been happening in the last year. Eavesdrop on whatever tea is being passed around. Sometimes, after lunch, there's some post-eats snoozing done (it happened; I have pictures). But, yeah, no TV. Not when we were kids, not when we were young adults, not now that we're adults. Card games like Monopoly Deal (which I highly recommend as a swift and delightful game to play with people who are not High Stakes Game Playing people) or Magic: The Gathering (which will instantly endear an ancient crone of a Gen-Xer aunt to GenZ nieces and nephews),

But yeah, we interact - okay, correction, most of us interact. The devoted introverts who've reached their limits may head off to the entertainment room to see what's going on there, but mostly? It's a big chance during the year to see each other, so we interact. It mean, the discussions could get interesting - the cousin my age apparently now works for a conservative candidate who's said some pretty awful things politically - things that my cousin's daughter was writing against waaaaay back a dozen years ago. I wish I was more in contact with them - I swear that their kids were only just kids, and now I'm pretty sure the oldest is, like, 21 or something crazy like that.

Anyway, a random thought I had watching all the posts about post-Thanksgiving lunch TV watching (and the apportioning of labour on Thanksgiving).

If you could turn one book, comic book or other print story into a feature-length movie or TV series, what would you pick and why?

HAHA. You all know exactly what I'd pick.

Going on a cruise all next week. ("Plague ship" B2 called it: thanks for the vote of confidence.) Off to Tasmania with some friends on a cruise that's been deferred for two years.

Need to take a PCR 48 hours before, or an RAT test 24 hours before. I have the usual sore throat and should probably check in with the local doc for antibiotics before leaving. *sigh* I hate this throat issue.
