Oof I realized that somehow I wrote NOTHING in May or June despite being sure I'd written at some point. So yeah, I feel your struggle. It's definitely making Trailer Park Cryptids book 2 a lot more daunting. It's set in Texas ffs and while it feels disingenuous to write uh... around politics so to speak while simuletaneous having so many characters identities be MASSIVELY political right now, I originally wrote it specifically so I didn't HAVE to think about politics, if that makes sense?
It's honestly so much wish fulfillment that this trailer park is as safe a place for queer folks as it is for supernatural folks. Like issues for our trans lady love interest are mentioned, but it's all off stage rather than front and center. Trying to keep it in that vibe of a soft place to land (even though yes it's urban fantasy and has that genre level violence) when this country (and our states specifically) is such a shit show is rough to say the least.
I'd be tempted to just say screw it and solely work on my full on cozy fantasy thing since it's setting is true fantasy, but I really NEED to get the trailer park sequel done to try to keep my small readership, you know? Just oof. Lots of oof.
