I love my dad but...
I'm trying to book somewhere to stay while in HK. My dad wants to share a room (apartment?) which...okay. But Dad is an extrovert. His wife is chatty and friendly and Viet. I love them, but there are limits to my patience, and I would like some quiet time away from them.
Also, Dad is cheap and will book some tiny little hostel room and be all "THIS IS FINE" because he doesn't need any space, he's happy to go out and be out all day and come back and collapse. I would like a little bit of 'oasis' so to speak.
Anyway, looking through options, I would like to book a place in Central, on HK Island, with 6 cats. Downside? Five floors up, no lifts. I'm pretty sure I can do the haulage, but someone mentioned a strong smell of cats. Which...so long as it's not cat urine, I can probably deal with it. And I'm only there for three nights, two full days.
I'm thinking about going direct to HK, instead of staying in Singapore. Except changing the flights will come with a fare change and a cost. And I would like to see Singapore again, it's just that maybe I'd be better off doing it with friends at some point and spending more time with the family?
Will check with the travel agent about costs for changing that section of the trip.
Otherwise, am making plans for places to stay in London, Bath, Porto, and Rotterdam, and finding things to do in those places, too.
Anyone done day tours in Porto, Portugal?
