Snowflake Challenge Day 1

I'm Tielan/Sel, I've been in online fandom since 2000, and started on LJ in 2001, moving to DW from 2009-2012, before pretty much moving long-term to DW from then on.

I feel like there's not much to say that I haven't already said in previous years.

Forty-something, cishet, non-white, been fannish a long time (since Return of the Jedi came out) but didn't have a name for it until the later 90s. Got into online fandom ~ 2001 and boom.

I'm in Sydney, Australia, garden, cook, quilt, sew, keep chooks, and somehow find the time to write in amidst all that and a forty-hour work week. Jack of all trades, master of none, etc. There are tags for these in my journal if you're interested in following it - chooks tends to fall under 'garden', and cooking is mostly under 'recipes'.

I've been in a number of megafandoms, most recently MCU, but previously Stargate Atlantis, Merlin, and Stargate SG1. I tend towards western fantasy/sci-fi fandoms: BSG, Firefly, Buffy & Angel, Merlin, Harry Potter, Sanctuary (TV).

Presently trying to write an urban fantasy novel, am facing major rewrites. Ugh.

Posts are mostly about RL and things going on - politics, my personal life, health, things I'm thinking about ('thinky thoughts') etc.

It's always friending/unfriending season, but I'm looking more for RL posts than fannish ones, particularly if we don't share the same fandoms.

Urban fantasy novel in re-writes! Yeah, you're at a hard place but once you're through this hopefully it gets better! Good luck with that!

I knew the Stargate fandoms, but you are/have been involved in a lot of fandoms! Quite the list you have there!

So glad to see you at Snowflake again! We must have met a year ago. I'm just not very good at commenting on people's journals. And I'm afraid I'm one of those with just fannish posts and not a fandom in common with you, as I'm still only in HP. But rewrites of an urban fantasy novel! I'd love to see any posts about writing process if you do those!

Hi! Dropping in from Snowflake. I discovered online fandom in 2001, too! Before that I had no idea that fandom was a 'thing'. It was a very exciting discovery. *g*
