Trying to decide on carry-on luggage. I'd take the small luggage which gives me some wiggle room, but the handle's an absolute pain. I've been thinking about gifting that one to B2 and buying a new one (with a handle that isn't such a bother): we don't throw things out in our household they get used until they fall apart, then we duct tape them together until the duct tape fails, then we duct tape and twine them together until that fails, and then it goes in the bin...

fannish musings

I know I'm lucky to be among women who not only like female characters but are productive and fannish about them.

But I've never thought about how lucky I was to fall in among them from the get-go when I first met the Sam/Jack Horsewomen of Stargate SG1 fandom, all of whom really liked Sam (and Jack, but mostly Sam) and most of us wrote fic and squee'd and LJ'd about her.

I don't think I'd have been as fannish if not for finding people who were as focused on female characters - and who wanted to be productive about them, thereby pushing them further into fannish consciousness.
