Honestly, getting rid of a party leader in Australia is EASY. Publish a few polls that suggests the party's numbers are failing and their own ministers will wield the knives.

However right now, Australians would vote for just about anyone who gave good (and fair go) governance. That's neither of the major parties, although the Liberal/National Party is worse (those are the conservatives, for anyone who doesn't have a grip on Aussie politics). They're 100% for big business, mining, coal, and sticking the head in the ground regarding climate change. Labor is pushing themselves as the party for 'ordinary Aussies' but that tends to translate to 'white and male' with a side of 'with money' to boot.

The Greens have good reactionary policies, but I can't say I'd trust them with governing a country. Then again, can't say that capitalist ideologies have worked so well in the past. But they'd never get the numbers.

Frankly, I think I'd take Lee Lin Chin in a dictatorship ahead of any political party. If nothing else, the Twitter feed would be EPIC. (It's not actually curated by her, but DAMN it's funny.)
