Working bee complete and very successful. So many tasks done, including a few that would have taken me months to do by my self - all in a single afternoon.

I had six tasks down, and we did six tasks. But one of the tasks on the original list didn't get done, and one thing that I had as a throwaway line turned out to be a major undertaking. But otherwise, we did a LOT.

1. redirected the downpipe off the carport roof from pouring out onto the ground so now it goes into a rainbarrel.
Permabee 2018: water barrels

2. made a "compost bioreactor" which is kind of a 'set and forget' compost pile - no turning required.

3. made composting bays for more active composts, which will get regularly added to and turned over

4. set up a self-watering wicking bed

5. moved a couple of bathtubs (original plan to set one up as a wicking bed and the other as a pond)

6. build a chook pen

6. take down two lattice fences at opposite ends of the property, combine, and move them to enclose more space in the 'backyard' area.

Anyway, even once everyone left I was tired and wired all evening, but didn't drop off to sleep around midnight. And now it's 4am and I woke up and my brain woke up and buzzed.

shit still to do

There's still a lot of little things to do to finish up the projects - from connecting a hose/pipe to water barrels which runs out to the orchard garden, to planting trees to screen the area that used to be concealed by the lattice fence.

But those tasks, while many, can be done without me having to work on it for many days. The permabee achieved months of work around the place and I am so incredibly pleased with what got done!
