After the fiasco of Re-Moving The Mango (and planting out the kiwiberry) on Friday (Saturday?), my body has been all-over sore.

And then yesterday was a permabee at a friend's house, and there was unfortunately only a lot of rather effort-ful digging. But we made a frog pond! And cleared space for a garden bed!

At least it wasn't boiling hot like it was at my permabee. But I still forgot the sunscreen. So I'm sore and lightly sunburned.

Then I came home to discover that the neighbour was trimming his cyprus hedge, which I then co-opted for hot compost. I only worked out what kind of shrub it was after I googled, and then I was concerned if it would compost. I think I might need to add other quantities of compostable materials once it's settled down a little. Otherwise, it might end up taking something ridiculous like three or four years to decompose...

Then again, I have plenty of woodchips that are (very) slowly decomposing...

But, yeah, green compostables aren't difficult to find in this area - apart from just getting lettuce or cabbage leaves from the local grocer, I could just ask up and down the street for people to put their compostables into an empty ice-cream carton and be easily one small bin of food waste a day.

In the meantime, it's heating up pretty well, and I put some seedlings down on it to keep warm overnight. I probably should have waited to find out just how hot it was going to get before putting them there but...

Oh well, the seedlings only went on this morning, there's still time.

But today, everything is sore. Particularly my forearms, which makes lifting anything (even a plate) a teeth-gritting proposition.
