classic irony

So. It looks like all I needed to do in order for the security clearance for the government job to come through was to spend three hours scrambling for data to fill in the unemployment application.

Typical.

So I have been granted the baseline security clearance, after which...I will hopefully have a job. (That's what I was told at the start of this, and they have paid a fairly steep sum for me to get this security clearance, so...I'm pretty sure that they will want to make money off me one way or the other.)

Discussing terms is going to be interesting. Also: working from home.
