tielan: (don't make me shoot you)

Last night, I dreamed I had my permabee. Except it wasn't my house. And Chris Evans was there, just wandering around being friendly.

--

This morning it's raining. I don't know how many people will turn up. The sourdough bread I was going to cook is flat. *sigh* I'm thinking of tossing olives and stuff on it and trying to turn it into foccacia.

--

This week, I fully identify with Bruce Banner in the Avengers: I'm always angry. I don't think that people appreciate that enough. I don't have to be fuming to be furious.

--

[personal profile] eggsbenedict? I might take you (and your friend?) up on that offer of a gardening day in the coming weeks (next Saturday would be really good, seeing as today's working bee is going to be something of a bust for doing things outside). And maybe I will finally succeed at sourdough...

--

16 hours later...

Permabee is finished, got a few things done, may need some refinement and completing, but, as always, good to have done what got done. Had 6 people. Two guys did about half the underfloor insulation for the house, another guy pruned my fruit trees down to a manageable level, and a guy and two women dug out the compost and seived it.

I fed them all. They really liked my food. I'll post a pic (and a [community profile] cookbook_challenge entry) tomorrow.

And in spite of being reminded several times, once again, I got so involved in doing stuff that I didn't take photos of anything we did before we cleaned it all up and finished! *facepalm*

Next time, gadget!

Did some washing up. Had a wash. Picked up aunt and uncle. Went to dinner with family. Whew. We came pretty close to hitting the max of 30 people allowed in a NSW household: parentals, sisters and I, uncle & aunt (x3), cousins + partner (x5), cousins (x3), cousins' children (2).

An awesome night. So good to see and chat and catch up and casually talk.

Dropped aunt and uncle off to their apartment (uncle has night vision issues, and aunt doesn't drive) and had a few 'lazy eyelid' moments after I'd dropped them off and was on the way home. So I was looking forward to BED.

And then I came home to discover the neighbours were having a LOUD house party. Which is their right on a Saturday night, only...

I sewed a quiling seam, chatted with the sistren, washed up a bunch of plates so I don't have to do it tomorrow and so the kitchen doesn't quite look like a hurricane hit it. Then I wrote a few more lines to this fic and typed up this journal entry. And now I will brush my teeth and go to bed and hope to sleep like the dead.

It was a good weekend for me. At the same time, I'm so sad for the Melbourne people who had to cancel their weekend activities for a hard lockdown.

May you have the best Lunar New Year available to you, my dears.
