Re-elected for President of permie group 2022, all good, had a great afternoon.

We had local council elections, and one Greens councillor who's running for Mayor against the conservative one, was last counted at 47% of the vote, although apparently only half have been counted? Not sure how that works: there can't be THAT many votes in the area, and I've counted for a state election before and it didn't take DAYS.

Then again, I did vote by internet. Advantage of having a state electoral commission: they know who you are, they can cross-check you against your details, and because they can cross-check you and the details are all there, it's actually quite easy to prove someone's been trying electoral fraud.

ps. FUCK YOU PAULINE HANSON AND YOUR RACIST SHIT "WE NEED TO PROTECT AGAINST ELECTORAL FRAUD BY IMPLEMENTING VOTER ID"

I mean, the options for voting by internet were: driver's licence, medicare, passport - yes, any of which could have been imitated and faked. In which case, I'd probably get a call from the electoral commission saying, "you voted twice; we need to have a small chat about this". It's also a lot harder to fake extra voters when everyone above 18 should be voting.

Frankly, the "eeeeeebil gubermint knows all" of registering all voters and mandatory voting is what also insulates us from electoral fraud (if any were happening, which actually it's not).

Foot is healing. I called the surgery this morning in the hope of getting the stitches out 'early' - supposed to leave it for a week. Nope. *sigh* The front secretary initially set up an appointment for tomorrow...and then called back to say she got the days wrong. Actually, I knew she had the days wrong, I just hoped that I could get it out a day earlier.

ARGH.

At this point, the stitches and pulling probably aches more than the wound itself.

Also, it looks very wrong to see one's skin as a covering to keep the insides in and the outside out. I mean, that's basically what our skin is, but to actually have the visual reminder of it...
