50th Birthday lunch for a friend yesterday. Then Saturday church, then sewing in the evening. Tried to go to sleep early, but the twins were speaking and not quietly.

Woke today, went to hockey from 10-2pm: 2 games (D-grade, lost; C-grade, drew). Then spent 2 hours learning how to score for next Saturday night's trivia night, as well as testing the questions and the 'quiz sheets' (anagrams, trivia knowledge, etc.)

I'd go to bed early, but B2 is going to be around for another few hours yet, unlikely to leave until at least 9pm, and until then...

One of the problems with going to bed early is that I am joined by the cats who are firmly convinced that I am their couch. An extra 3-4kg of weight on various parts of my body is not actually good for my joints, my muscles, my connections.

Also: going to have to make a decision on the mulcher. I need something to deal with the branches etc. And I need it by at least the middle of the week.

Supposed to have the first week in August off. Need to talk to them about that.

The parentals have suggested I could maybe travel to the UK to meet them while they're travelling around in October. I like the idea, theoretically, but the issues include getting B1 to mind the house/cats/chooks, taking time off work, and affording a trip. Travel is no longer as cheap as it used to be, and with COVID all over the place...

Also, I need to talk to my European travel partner about it. For a while we were discussing travelling across Europe together, then across Canada together, before I flew home. (I was thinking I'd probably avoid the US, just catch up with friends in Canada instead.) But, again, I can't take too much time from work - although better right now while I'm on contract than once I've taken on a permanent position...

Uuuuugh. Conversations. I must have them.
