In this last week, two people effectively told me that it's wrong to be angry with the state of the world.

*rolls eyes so hard they fall out of my head and go across the floor*

Those two are showing their privilege SO HARD. "My life's quite fine thank you, so don't remind me of how shitty it is for other people." Ugh, what swine.

Because everything is perfect already. Obviously. *eye-roll*

You have a right to be angry. It's not healthy to wallow in anger, but that doesn't mean locking it away is any better.

Wait, really? I'm basically always angry with the state of the world. I mean, the level of anger ebbs and flows and it's not only ever anger, there's also hope and other feelings too. But that's me. Ultimately, what I'm saying is that there's a lot to be angry with about the state of the world.

Should I laugh my ass off or punch them out, I wonder?

Do they have their head in the sand or something? Not that the state of the world has ever been in great shape, but they sound like idiots.

I get that it's at times fruitless* to be angry with the state of the world, so many things are out of our control - but it's certainly not WRONG to be angry. Sheesh.

*anger without action - like someone who complains but doesn't vote

.... well, now we know they're ignorant jerks who never read the news.

Well clearly they don't understand that before he helped lead the fight for Indian independence, Gandhi got mad at the state of his world. If he had just gotten mad and whined incessantly without taking action, he could have been criticized for it, but instead it moved him to change the things he didn't like.

We're all probably wearing clothing today because some cave ancestor got mad about the cold or the way the mosquitos could bite everywhere and invented the loin cloth.

Besides, how would we ever discover that there is a critical mass of people out there that wants to be a force for change if we all kept mum about the things we don't like?

Sillies!

How wrong can two people be? And how controlling.
