All that watching I was gonna do? AHAHAHAHA.
I did however swap rooms with my sister (it's amazing: our old rooms were both horrendously cramped, but when we swapped our spaces around it opened up EVERYTHING. Even in my (new) room - smaller than the other one in dimenion - feels beautiful and spacious and wonderful!
I also shopped, went to quilting group, did dinner and karaoke with friends, as well as plotted out my MCU Ladies ficathon. (I'm going to have to start writing tomorrow because it's gonna be EPIC. See below the cut.)
Okay, so, when I wrote "Give A Girl A Moment And She'll Take You For All You've Got" I left a hook in the story. Yes. Yes, I did. There was indeed A Plan, and Everything Was Connected.
I started it in "The Right Hand Knows Not" but frankly the damn thing got too big for its boots, leaving me stuck writing one of those 1000-page novels where the typefont is teeny tiny in order to fit in all the story that the author wanted to tell. And is unwieldy.
And then IM3 comes along, and Thor 2, and Cap 3, and Agents of SHIELD...and all my well-thought-out plotbunnies that were good for, oh, a year after The Avengers first showed are now no longer good.
Well, this one is. And will be for, oh, up to Avengers: Age of Ultron. Which means I have to get the damn thing out before then.
And I can use not only Maria, but Melinda May! Jemma Simmons is perfect, and dammit, so is Betty Ross. Jane's inclusion is totally relevant, and Natasha brings all the information to the yard. Plus, there's Steve/Maria! The Avengers! Bucky! And, yes, a small squidge of angst. Plus I came up with the twist this morning and it is awesome. I am evil and I love it.
(Never mind, I'm just gloating. Now I have to start writing!)
tl;dr: there is plot, and it is very good.
I also did some gardening - what the heck do you do about mildew on pumpkins, cucumbers, and zucchini? I've sprayed like a mad spraying thing with baking soda (bicarb soda), oil, and warm water, which slows it down a little, but the mildew always comes back. It's not seriously hurting the plants yet, but I would like to be able to get rid of it eventually.
Also: there are bugs in my corn. I have to work out what to do about those - I think ants (or possibly aphids) have nested in the silks. So I have this lovely corn harvest...that's being nommed by pests. :(
And now it is Sunday night, there is a nearly-full week of work upcoming, and at some point yesterday, I strained something in my left shoulder/arm. It aches with certain movements.
I didn't end up making the key lime pie after all. :(
