contemplating another world trip...

As andveryginger has reminded me, it may be time for another RTW trip.

I want to visit my dad in Vietnam, at least one friend who's moving to London in April and will be there for a couple of years, and go to D*C in Atlanta (again). Which means I'd need a costume for D*C. ARGH.

I did New York last time, so probably not that way. And I know I have at least a couple of friends in Chicago it would be wonderful to see again (too long: way way too long), and a few new friends in the area that it might be nice to meet!

Probably exit out of San Fran again - I have friends there, and the public transport system and the airport beats LA hands down (I don't know; maybe LA's gotten its act together in the last few years.)

I'd try to go the 'right' way around the world: Sydney to Asia, Asia to Europe, Europe to America, and then home. Have to work out if I have enough holidays for a really big trip. And the energy.

So August-September: Vietnam, London, Chicago, Atlanta, and San Francisco at this point, possibly with time in Houston. Depends on how much vacation time I get and whether I'm on a project or anything...

Chicago, hooray! Especially as Dragon*Con is not financially in the works for the foreseeable future. Alas. But yay, you're leaning toward Chicago!

I've wanted to come back to Chicago for YEARS. But one can only hopscotch so much by budget and time, and it kept getting pushed down the list.

But this year, definitely an option!

I've never been up to Cambridge! (Nottingham and Bristol, yes.) I'd love to see more of the UK - most of my experience has been straight into London (and usually out of it after a day or two).

But if I can't make Cambridge, meeting up in London would be wonderful!
