Okay, with a completely crappy day up on the books, I strolled into the Maria/STeve tag on AO3...

To discover that Philyra has posted the next piece of her "Get Ready For It" MCU/NHL fusion where Maria is the first woman in the NHL.

The first part was I Came To Win (Pepper's POV), and this one is called I Came To Conquer and is Maria's POV and I am SPINNING LIKE A TOP, peoples!

If you haven't read I Came To Win yet, I highly recommend it - even without the (ice) hockey background it is So Much Fun.

And I'm going to sneak-read about 1500 words of I Came To Conquer over the next couple of hours and so far I am TOTALLY ON BOARD WITH THIS.

Did I mention SPINNING LIKE A DAMN TOP?

(It's coming up to 11am and I've already had three different clients on my plate. I've cancelled a physio appointment, my torn calf is aching after yesterday, and I've rearranged my lunch date with [livejournal.com profile] andveryginger to dinner because things are so hectic, so this new installment of the series is sending me OVER THE MOON.)

tl;dr: if you're a fan of the MCU women, and particularly Maria, go and read this. (Hell, go read this if you're a fan of the MCU characters, because they are all awesome: Steve, Bucky, and Sam are a forward line-up in the NHL and sharehouse. Nat defects from the Russian leagues (and she punches out Rumlow: do you really need more?) and Spiderwoman and Captain Marvel are Olympic figure-skaters training the team. Melinda May is their damn COACH.

...that was supposed to be the tl;dr version wasn't it? Oops... I'm just so excited...

*bounce*

I subscribed to Philyra on the strength of I Came To Win which was my glorious wonderful MCU Ladies gift earlier this year (still warm and happy thinking about it).

And I was SO excited when I got the notification last night and stayed awake to read it. SO good. And it's only part 1/2 :-) That means there's MORE.

THANK YOU FOR LETTING ME KNOW THIS WAS POSTED.

It was not quite the 100% TOTAL AWESOME that the first one was, but it was close.

It is an annoyance to me that the AO3 software can't figure out that if you subscribe to a work, it should notify you when a sequel to that work is posted. (I suggested this feature to them, we'll see if anything comes of it.)
