Teyla's sense of humour is very dry, more to do with a sense of timing or a vocal inflection than with making a witty or arch remark, or poking fun of someone in very vocal context.
It's a more British style of humour: situational or contextual humour - a sense of the wry and ridiculous, rather than poking fun at someone (Rodney), or making a snappy comeback (Jack O'Neill).
I don't imagine too many people 'get' that kind of humour. And there's the compound angle of her being 'alien' and therefore (according to the Stargate universe) 'incapable' of having a sense of humour - see the treatment of Teal'c in SG1 for too many years.
