If you receive more than one gift in an exchange, does it matter to you, personally, whether the gift is the assignment that they had to write or a treat which they did gratis?

Do you respond differently to one as compared to the other?

I don't really. I do feel extra warm fuzzies from treats but that's all.

Yeah, that's kind of what I figured. But some people seem very anxious about assigned gifts vs. treats and since I'm not usually someone who gets treats as well as gifts, it's never really come up on my radar before...

No, it doesn't matter and I respond to them the same. To be fair, in 12 years with 3-6 fic exchanges a year, I think I've had an extra story exactly twice, so. ;-)

I don't usually get extra gifts. I have this time and it's kind of new. And I think I've been hanging around on FFA too much, where everyone has a different opinion on how to behave when someone gifts you a treat, and EVERYONE ELSE IS RONG.

After a while, one becomes just a little paranoid.

I'd say they're both gifts, and thus equally fantastic.

It doesn't matter to me. They're both gifts someone took the time and effort to write in response to my request, and I subscribe to the two cakes! theory of fic and art. :)
