So, the company contracting me out thinks they might have work for me mid-November. I'm pretty good with that.

Two weeks to putter around at home (or possibly go on at an all-out sprint) sounds pretty perfect to me!

Because there's always something

writing
- sedoretu
- neighbours AU
- NaNo (haven't decided if I'm doing fanfic or profic - maybe 30K of each?)

fanart
- Angel: Faith icons
- MCU: Maria icons
- finish off Marvel Big Bang art

house
- solar battery
- water tanks
- look at getting greywater setup (cost)
- contact friend about making couch frame with drawer underneath
- make storage roller bin for under glass coffee table
- sharpen all knives
- get rid of old telephone handsets

The solar battery, water tanks, and greywater setup are pricey things, perhaps, but they're also long-term investments for the property.

(FTR: I have two minds - one is very technological and possibility-minded. The other is a Doomsday homesteader. It makes things 'interesting'. On one hand: TECHNOLOGY IS AMAZING. On the other: FINITE RESOURCES = HELLO FUTURE SCARCITY.)

garden
- chicken-proof yard with fences
- collect more horse manure from out nearby farm area way (maybe do this on Tues when I'm at a medical appointment in that direction?)
- set up racks for storing garden stakes and other things too long to keep in
- get rid of the leaf blowers
- get rid of the spare whippersnipper
- sharpen all blades (snipper blades and mulcher blades)

general
- fossick through kerbside waste in local streets for various things I'm seeking.
- foot check
- tooth check

Council does 'large waste kerbside collection' 2x per year (as compared to garbage collection each week) - and the piles of 'things people don't want to/can't bin' are ripe fodder for picking through. This includes people who do this kind of thing professionally, bringing trucks and workers along to move large pieces of furniture, beds, and whatnot. (Utility trucks, vans, small moving trucks, trailers...)

I have a list of things I want specifically, some general things it's always a good idea to snag, and sometimes something you just can't pass up. Last night, I found a set of six 'director's chairs' leaning against a tree in a nearby suburb. They're pretty good quality (although the wood could maybe do with some oiling).

Trying to see if I can get my stepdad to come by and help me with some mechanical bits and pieces in the next week...

So, no shortage of things to do.

That's not even counting the quilting stuff I'd like to do...

But we'll see how it all pans out. They might not be able to secure the work for me, which makes for a different kettle of fish.

It sounds like a wonderfully productive two weeks! Here's hoping that the extra work comes through, too. :)
