What I'm hoping for from the optometrist is an concrete indication that something is affecting the rest of my head/eye in that area. I can then take that to the dentist and say "look, this is measurable, scientific proof that something is happening in that area, no matter how you spin it that nothing should be happening".
If that fails, then a friend mentioned that she had a recommendation for a more holistic practice, as in they look at the body's systems as all interconnected, and their practitioners (while scientific) are less inclined to say "well, it all looks fine from my specialisation so you must be mistaken about anything being wrong".
