Mangoes are one of the best things about summer. This one that I'm eating right now was originally going into a mint-and-mango-margherita, but I ended up eating it straight instead.
The tequila tasting has not gone so well; I fell behind right around the 7th and never picked it back up again. When you're not a big drinker, a shot of tequila every night feels suspiciously alcoholic!
I think I had a fishbone lodged in my throat the last two days. I could eat, but wasn't doing well at keeping things down (gag reflex), and then yesterday afternoon, I moved my jaw and felt something poke me inside my throat. I think swallowing chunks of bread last night might have moved it on but I guess we'll see.
chocolateboxcomm nominations are going until the 29th December - get them in!
It's kind of...ironic, I guess. "If you want something in fandom, then make it yourself" is an accepted wisdom; but when you make it yourself, then people whine that you're too prolific and that you're spoiling the character/pairing. Hypocrisy: it's not just for conservatives.
We are very much not on track for Twelve Days Of Ficmas 2017. I can't seem to brain once I get out the door of work; I can potter around in the garden, but actual presence of mind to write? Not so much. So damn tired, and the heat isn't helping.
Today is 40C plus humidity. This morning was hot and sticky even before the sun came up. If I'd been off work today, it would have been a perfect beach day (if I'm going to the beach, I want it to be hot early in the day, so I can go, have my swim, and then retreat inside before the sun and the UV levels go ballistic).
Chickens have a tarp over their coop, they have water (I think they actually climb into the large bowl and douse themselves, because it was filthy when I came home yesterday afternoon), the question is whether they drink it. (They're really bad at hydrating.)
And in a link from the Atlantic: What Makes All Those Things Americans Love About Canada Great? Taxes.

Now we here in Australia just have to work out how to kick our politicians enough that they don't go down the American road. *grr*
