I didn't have to work the weekend.

I wrote 1K to sedoretu's final chapter.

People really do like happy endings. 23 people have kudos'd the fic since I posted the update a week ago. Some are likely logout-anons who've already kudos'd it under their username, but I've seen a couple of new usernames turn up. Always nice.

I don't (yet) have a ticket to see Black Panther. Probably not this week (too busy, everything starting up and I need to judge my spoons), but definitely before too long.

I wrote one treat. I think that's all I'll manage this year, although I like some of the prompts quite a lot. I just don't have time.

And I'm really really exhausted this morning.

My roommate and I had to buy tickets way in advance in order to get seats at any of the more comfortable theatres in the Boston Metro. People like their Marvel (find for TLJ was even worse, holy crap; places were sold out the first two days tickets were available), I guess.

There's a bighugeginormous cinema company that exists all over the state (and has about 20 complexes in Sydney) and just about every one of their cineplexes will screen a newly-released Marvel movie around 5 times a day for the first week, not including 3D or superHD versions. There is almost no danger of not being able to see it at a time of choice (well, maybe not the first day around here), but truly, I might try the little cinema that charges maybe half the price but only has one screen and is barely staying afloat...

That would be super nice! I mean, all the theatres here are showing it like 4-6 times a day, every day, but maybe there aren't as many? I don't know. There are three near where I live, but I'm on the North end of Boston.

I'm just super excited. It looks so good.

On one hand I am delighted because the reviews are good and I love the way it looks and WOW. (And a superhero with a blood family who he clearly loves and who loves him? YAAAAASSSS. I love the found family trope, but a superhero from a normal, reasonably-adjusted family who taught him right from wrong and how to take teasing? I AM THERE. Basically, gimme all the T'Challa and his sister gifsets.)

On the other, I'm still bitter about the overall lack of recognition of Maria Hill in both the movies and the fandom. A small and petty thing, perhaps, but depressing when one thinks about how many kicks in the kidneys one has taken from the Bucky/Steve and Peggy/Steve fans.

YES. I love found family, but family ribbing is great. Black Lightning has a lot of actual-family-drama, too, which is making it pretty fun to watch. (For what little I've watched.)

I loved Maria Hill in the comics (though most of my interaction with her was through Iron Man, I'll be fair), and her role in Avengers was minimal at best. To be fair, I really don't think she was cast well (I do love Cobie Smulders, I do, she just isn't what I think of when I think of Maria).

...at least there are no kicks in the kidneys from the Steve/Tony fans? We're so embedded by now it's terrifying. (I mean comics folks, mostly. Where MCU people are seeing the slash is kind of beyond me. Maybe from some banter, I suppose?)
