I've accepted the LJ terms and am posting back to LJ, largely in curiosity to see if anyone's still reading over there. There are a couple of people on my flist who are posting quite regularly, but I'm not sure that any of them were reading me in the first place.
Anyway, it's been just over a year, and I'm not sure that sugar, we're going down swinging, although the US is still number one with a bullet.
I have a whole post of thoughts on why people struggle with writing minor characters (even writing them as minor bit-part characters in the plot of a big story), but that's for another time, I think.

Minor characters rarely grip me hard enough to focus on them, whether on the reading or the writing side (so thanks for the Maria and Peggy prompt back when). But it has, occasionally, happened, probably by some combination of actor performance and writing. But I do think it comes back to Interest On Part Of The Showrunners. If they can't muster attention, I tend to reflect that.

That sounds interesting.
