Once again, both my quilts got accepted into the Sydney Quilt Show. (Honestly, I'm not sure why, they're not really that fantastic.)

Neither of them are finished. Not even the tops are complete!

So the Plain Jane Passacaglia is considerably further along now than it was in this picture, but I've still got the last side to sew down tomorrow night, the remaining borders to put on (Saturday), and then the quilting and binding to do (God only knows when).

Break Free or Build Upon is going to need at least a few more blocks to complete, and then the issue of quilting comes in.

Break Free Or Build Upon

And I just realised that when quilting that, I also need to follow the traditional-to-modern pattern of quilting and...why do I do this to myself? Seriously?

Anyway, it seems that May's unofficial title for me is: "how do you quilt like you're running out of time?"

Woot, woot! I love your quilts; they're modern and artistic and everything I would look for in a quilt.

Why do you do this to yourself? Because you're good at it.

I just want to know how you have all this free time?

I always love your quilt pics! Good luck with the quilting like the wind bit /o/

(Autocorrect changed "quilting" to "writing", how does it know...?)

The color and inherent movement of the pattern in the first one is really wonderful. The best kind of mesmerizing.

I can see what you meant in another comment about the second needing some more variation in the final diagonal row, but it's a fascinating WiP. I keep turning over in my head something about balance and how it seems quite bold but I can't quite nail the thoughts down.

I have looked at far more quilts than I've hand any hand in, but that sounds like a challenging schedule considering you're working with time around the edges. And now I realize you said that at least the Passacaglia is further along than in the photo, but still. Sympathies and good luck? :)
