- skip the handles, just do the adjustable straps
- leather sides, leather bottom, silver hardware (see if we can match it all),
- echo the multiple lines of the uniform chasings (find a blue on blue that might work for evocation rather than explicit?

Should the main fabric be patterned or plain, do you think? Would you be more likely to use something explicitly fannish, or would you prefer a bag that can pass as non-fannish in a pinch?

Explicitly fannish but sufficiently obscure that only us fans will know, others will find it tasteful if interesting.

I'm hoping that the colours and the lines evoke the relevant series (possibly with a little help) but otherwise would pass as "oh, that's a nice bag!"
