Have a rec:
series: Get Ready For It
author: Philyra
fandom: MCU
characters: all of them, but the POV characters are Pepper, Maria, Natasha, Darcy, Skye, and Steve's mom (yes, you read that correctly).
premise: The characters of the MCU are all involved in an NHL hockey team - the New York Knights. Pepper's the owner, Maria is the first female player in the NHL, Natasha defects from Russia, Darcy is the PR handler, Skye is an employee of Stark Hockey Technology, and Steve's mom is a nurse and enthusiastic supporter of the team. Most of the MCU characters introduced up until AoU make an appearance, although the focus is on the women in the organisation and the players on the team.

“You can’t make me believe you have an issue with being ridden up and down all day, Sam.” Pepper said archly, before her tone softened. “How are you?”
“Doing pretty okay. Apart from being dead of course. You?”
“Being away from Earth is definitely a new experience,” Pepper looked up at the shattered buildings, the curve of their walls defying gravity - presuming Titan had even the same kind of gravity as Earth did. “How is that kind of structure even possible? And, oh, God, I’ll be dealing with Tony’s attempt to replicate it, won’t I?”
Maria winced. “Probably.”
“They said that Tony was here before...well, before. But he’s not here, now...Maria, what’s happening? Dr. Strange turned up in Central Park while Tony and I were jogging and suddenly it was the fate of the world and Tony had to go save it again. Which...I didn’t mind, because I like the world, but I’m just...the last time he went off-world, he nearly died and he can’t keep doing this. I don’t think I can keep doing this!”
The last line had a touch of hysteria to this, and Maria closed her hand over Pepper’s and realised just how cold her fingers were.
“When I know what’s going on,” she told Pepper, “you’ll know what’s going on.”
Pepper relaxed just a fraction, her grip easing back on Maria’s. “God, I’m sorry, I’m just...dealing with all this.” She began to laugh. “You’ve got bigger things to worry about than me.”
Maria exhaled and spoke the truth. “Not here I don’t.”

I'd post the amazingly postcard-y pic that I took of the Opera House on Friday morning as we sailed into Sydney Harbour, but I don't have it available to link to from LJ.
