Why am I not yet out of this office?
Oh, that's right. It's not yet 5pm. Or even close.
*sigh* Anyway, I'm going to ramble a bit, not because I'm bored and have nothing to do but because I have things that probably need doing and I'm just MEH about them right now...
Stressful couple of days working because of a project that's run overtime and is continuing to run overtime. They said not to worry about it, but it's sitting kinda heavy on me...
Still sleeping really badly - about 5 hours a night - going to bed around 11:30pm, waking up between 5-5:30am. Can't seem to get to bed any earlier although my go-to-bed alarm goes off at 10pm. A lot of people I know have been sleeping badly, though.
I'll be going to a concert tonight in town. From 7pm, but I think I'll go early and sit in the lobby bar of a city hotel have a mocktail, and write. Although mostly I really just want to sleep. The thing is that I need to get to bed earlier for actual sleep, because I just wake up early these days. It's going to be absolutely horrid when it starts getting lighter in the sky...
Writing is happening, in few of the stories that I want it to. My
not_primetime fic isn't showing in my 'works in collections' section, and I'm not 100% happy with it and have started another rewrite. However I also have my
everywoman fic due in a day or so and, uh, yeah, that's not going well at all. It's in a fandom I haven't been in for a while and...it's an effort.
I just found a variable that someone named MCPERIOD which...I don't know if that's funny to anyone else or if I'm really just that sleep-deprived.
Nevertheless, she laughed.

"I got that flow. I got that flow..."
I was thinking "the McPeriod: you know what you're going to get, when you're going to get it, exactly the same month in, month out, year after year..."
Or else a tartan period.
My brain was really tired at that point. It's not much better right now, actually.

Writing in a city hotel lobby over a mocktail sounds lovely. Hope it provides some respite.
Yes, I believe the "works in collections isn't WORKING" bug has been reported to AO3. The most frustrating thing for me personally is that no one is yet sure if it's a bug - or an "upgrade" that no one wanted. There's still one's stats page, and other people's gifts pages, of course. Neither remotely as convenient.

So she's going to meander another dozen stories of the building she's in, wander around, think about life, the universe and everything, and then have a conversation on one of the upper floors with a friend before going all the way back down again.
Ah yes, the uncertainty of coding. "We think it might be because of this, but nobody quite knows, because code A intersected with code B and we think it changes the way code C works but while we can replicate the problem, we can't see what's happening as we replicate it".
I've been looking at it through my Assignments page, which, again, not as convenient. (And the Stats page is downright ugly for someone as prolific as me.)
