Tail end of the hockey season. We are presently perched at the top of the table. If we win this weekend's game, we will be unassailably at the top of the table. ('Unassailably' appears not to be a word in Firefox's dictionary. However, neither is 'honour'.)
Even apart from hockey, I seem to have something on every weekend from now until the first weekend in October (long weekend here in Aus): breakfasts and dinners and book launches and courses and heavens only knows what else.
This weekend, it's a Permaculture Introductory course. Some twenty years after I was first introduced to Permaculture, and three years after I tried to do the course the first time, pulled a muscle in a Sunday morning hockey game, and ended up not doing the 2nd day. *sigh* Anyway, this time, I'm going with an old schoolfriend I haven't seen in yonks. ('Yonks' used to be a valid measure of time, back in the 90s; I'm pretty damn sure of it.) I noticed she showed an interest in the course, contacted her, and we booked together. She's from out of town, so she's staying at my house Friday and Saturday night.
...I'd better vacuum the study when I get home tonight.
Anyway, the course is all day tomorrow, then we're going to have dinner with another friend from school days (possibly two if the 2nd one can get away from her hubs and 5 kids) on Saturday night. Sunday is the course again, and when we get home, I have hockey at 7:30pm. Hopefully it's a better game than last week.
I may need next Monday off, too...
