Mal's been off her feed since yesterday afternoon when I got home. Usually she's first to the door, demanding her munchies. She didn't eat at all last night, although she laid into the grass that I picked for her to chew on, but just vomited up the stalks in bile. And this morning the bile was pinkish - probably tinged with blood.

Otherwise, she was fine; happy to curl up and purr, to snooze and sit. But that tinge worried me.

I have the sinking suspicion that she's eaten something she shouldn't. Either a piece of fish with bone in it (I was blending up some for the chooks, and might not have been particularly neat about it), or possibly a string of dental floss that I wasn't so careful about rolling up and throwing out?

There's a work lunch on this afternoon, which I'm going to skip to get her to the vet. (It goes all afternoon - from 1pm to 4:30pm - and I'm invited, but hardly necessary.) I guess I'll see how she is when I get home...

Best of luck with your cat.

My cat, Malcolm (never 'Mal' for short - haha), has had a similar blood-tinged bile thing before. It was lots of lab work and some sub-Q fluids and he eventually got his appetite back and has been fine since - still don't know what caused it.

Oh no, poor kitty. Hope she is better now.

The bone in fish seems unlikely to be the culprit. I feed our cats fish with small bones all the time, and they're fine.
