No work on the horizon through the company who was sending me out to do contracts.
On one hand, it's really nice not having to go to work.
On the other, my bank account is trickling away, very slowly. And Christmas is coming. I mean, we're not a very materialistic household, and I can make gifts. But still...going out, parties, socialising, etc. That tends to cost something.
In the meantime, I'm mostly writing and gardening, which will hopefully (eventually) translate to income and food.

(As for the writing, a blogfriend of my wife's just had two (2) editors offer to rep her -- and she hasn't been looking for very long. In her case it's Jane Austen fandom, which of course is A Thing In And Of Itself, but also, like you, that she is a prolific author with a popular body of work, all in the fanfic world.)

I'm not too concerned about it, luckily. Being out of money stresses me, but it doesn't stress me out the way it might do other people.
And, wow, that's great for your wife's friend! I'm guessing she either pitched or submitted a manuscript to them? I chatted with someone at a NaNo write-in last night who went to the Romance Writers of Australia and pitched a story to a couple of agents and got requests for a full MS and a partial MS, so...it seems doable.
I just don't have any completed manuscripts. (Been writing too much fanfic, or changing my mind too many time.)
