Dear author...

Hey! I'm glad you're writing for me, because we like the same relationships and want to see them get hot and intimate with each other.

So, I've asked for many of the same things that I asked for last year, not because I received inferior gifts, but because I just want to see more of these pairings and how you put them together. I also copied the letter and modified it, so if there's something in there that isn't in this year's tagset, just ignore it. I apologise for the confusion.

Steve sees more of himself in her - the drive to work and make the world better, but he has more of a sense of time out and fun and camaraderie than she does (due to the HCs and Bucky). So he tries to draw her out, be recreational, to get at the woman who doesn't let loose very often, but who's a lot of fun when she does. And Maria is more inclined to get out with Steve and try 'being ordinary', even if she thinks/believes/knows it's temporary (they're not normal and they never were). It's more about Steve's desire for normality to her, and Maria's need for someone to pull her out of her head to him.

In between sexytimes. Downtime sexy. On the edge of the mission sexytimes. After the mission sexytimes and post-drop dealing. I prefer Thor, Bucky, and Maria as subs, which means it can go either way in Bucky/Maria (it can go either way in any of them, really, and I'm good with that, too), but this one is very much about careful negotiation of what they will and won't do.

I'd absolutely adore something in this gap between Civil War and Infinity War, but given the rarity of these pairings in MCU, any time and place that you want to set them is good - including AUs, from the mundane to the wild and fantastical (includes soulmates, and fantasy worlds).

For each of these relationships, I love the possibilities of their interactions out of bed colouring how they go together in bed: sex while discussing Very Serious Topics, or snarking/banter/teasing while in the middle of sex.

Oh, and for this one, I class 'Unexpected Feelings' as "fuck buddies/friends with benefits, who slowly fall in love and have a panicked OH SHIT THE OTHER PERSON THINKS THIS IS CASUAL BUT IT'S NOT period before they sort it all out" - which is serious jam for me in this fandom. (Again, totally optional, if you can't do it, then don't. It's all good.)

Bucky focuses more on the work factor, because that's easier and more comfortable for them both, and basically focuses on the friendship-within-the-working-relationship. The working relationship is the safety net, they can both fall back on it rather than admit anything, and he gets off on the fact that she trusts him in the field when he could kill her so easily. Maria thinks that it's just trust, and he needs someone who sees what he is without judging him or dismissing what he did, so she gives him that, but would kind of like to hold him, too - to test her own boundaries of professional distance against him.

So, this is the 'circling dance of what they want/need without actually acknowledging it out loud' option, where they go about it sidewise: Bucky makes reasons for her to look after him (sensual and sexual) and leans into it, while Maria tells herself he needs this - but gently - because HYDRA made it so he couldn't say no.
