other side of infinity - playlist?

If I had a playlist that I wanted to give out at the same time as a story, what would be the best way to do it?

As in, seriously, my notes have: "Waking up - Louder Than Words", "Sam - Caderka fight: Forge - Infinity War" "Maria - do you remember: End of the Line - Cap 2". It gives me good mood for what I'm writing.

Would you listen to a playlist while reading the story?

I would. I am particularly fond of Spotify playlists, but know they are a pain to build because you have to put them in in the order you want?

I don't actually mind building Spotify playlists. I've got one for this fic, and I've been listening to it very loudly in between writing sessions.

Since Spotify is my primary music source, I love to see lists for them so I can subscribe to the list if I decide it really works for me. The Ahsoka Tano playlist that went around a few years ago is a constant listen for me, for example.

I wouldn't listen to one while I read, I'd find it distracting. But I would check it out afterwards. I don't think it would matter what the medium was - Spotify would be fine for me.

I love playlists! Probably Spotify would be the best thing, although I don't think you can embed them on DW. That or youtube.

I like playlists, but wouldn't listen while I read (I also don't listen to music with lyrics while I write). I would click and listen after I've read though, because I find them fascinating and as a vidder I naturally love narratives that are mentally set to music.

I used to use fanmixes for vid song inspirations and... while I have PLENTY of Ahsoka vid bunnies (honestly I'm debating waiting for the final Clone Wars footage or just going for it) it can never hurt to have more!

I do find it a little distracting while writing, although sometimes it's better than others.

And Spotify is easy for me; it's already there.

Someone made me a video for one of my SGA fics, long ago - I think it was the Astonishing Persistence of Memory, and it was pretty awesome. So, yeah, I love music that can be used for videos.

I think linking a spotify playlist from authors notes is probably the way to go. I wouldn't listen while I read but I'd listen afterwards, probably.

So, yes to posting your playlist. Plus, it helps recall a mood that your fic evokes, reinforcing it. Vid or not.
