I don’t want to be here at work right now. The work I was assigned to do has largely petered out and I’m just doing little adjustments here and there. The person who assigns me work has gone on holidays for a couple of weeks, leaving me at something of a loose end. (Although she seems to have just walked into the office, so it seems she’s back.)
A quick discussion later and it seems that I’ve finished the work that I was doing here, and now it’s writing the technical specifications. Now the interesting question is whether they’ll assign me anything more and keep employing me after the next two weeks...

The chickens have been regularly getting out and wreaking havoc on the garden. I’ve had to start covering any seedlings with those wire baskets that come in shelves of three or four. They also tend to dig up anything that’s got loose soil around the base, so it’s just as well that I went to check on the avocado tree I’d transplanted last week. They’d dug the sides of it up and it was leaning. Worst of all, I can’t seem to find the gap!
I do need to work on improving the section around the henhouse, also maybe make a wooden frame base for it to rest on, because the metal one that it’s on is not holding up (it’s not a very thick or strong frame, just aluminium).

B1 is up at the parentals all week, coming back Sunday night. Which means the cats are home alone all day, which means they’re antsy when I come home... *sigh*
I really need to get my brain out of fanfic, but right now it seems to have been hijacked by another plotbunny that’s looking mildly epic. As in, chaptered and versed and twists and turns and even canon-compliant...
Also, I’ve had a few comments from fans who’ve never piped up before saying how much they love my fic and my pairings, which is always, always lovely, but it feels a little out of the blue.

Quilting day yesterday: I got two quilts pin-basted, ready to go on the machine. I’m going to have to clean the workroom this week, and start outlining the blocks. The quilts are probably going to be due in early June, so there may not be that much time left for me to write after everything else...

Blessings on the chooks and garden and work! Here's hoping everything works out on that front. Also, hoping the ficcing goes well. :hugs:
