The finished Penny Patch I made:
#c4quilts

The current one I'm sewing together:
20191007_075918

I've decided against giving it to the cousins. The younger two are very stylish and it's not in their style at all. I'll finish the four tops, though, and work out what to do with them later.

But once the pink-and-green quilt top is done, I'm going to be working on another quilt in different fabrics, although the same pattern.

Went to the garden of friends to learn about making tea from fresh herbs. Their garden was lovely and lush verdant and all over the place. I need to be less strict about what goes where, toss down more flowers-and-field seeds, and plant more perennials. Which I am doing this week in between writing and doing all the things.

Query: if you went to an 'Edible Garden Trail', what would you expect to see? What would you hope to find? And for any of you who follow my gardening, what questions do you have about my garden and/or growing edible things?

If I went to an edible garden trail, I would be hoping for something unusual - like 'did you know you could eat this?' kind of thing. Like edible flowers, fresh herbs beyond the usual basil and mint.

Ah - then I suppose it will depend on your audience. If they're like you, and are familiar with "unusual" plants, then maybe pick a theme above and beyond "garden edible tour" and pick plants that speak to that theme, like by the end of the tour they'd have completed a full meal - or maybe a scavenger hunt type tour, if they are knowledgable enough that testing and competing would be fun.

Like "find two poisonous items that are tasty when cooked only one way" or something.

Both quilts look lovely, but I really like the new one you're working on! I love pink/black/etc combos in general though ^___^

Yessss I'm trying the "chuck seeds wherever" approach a lot more this year too. Good luck with your seed chucking this week!

I mean, this is really just what I want to do in my own garden but will never have the time, space and resources for, but on an edible garden trail I'd love to see: regional themes (e.g. Chinese, Mediterranean, Indian fruit/veg/herbs), indigenous (to any region) plants and gardening techniques, berry hedges, food forests/multistory plantings, espalier, edible aquatic plants, (edible) mushroom cultivation.
