Nice! Broccoli and fish sounds pretty good - but then rice is one of my comfort foods with the right additions. (My mum's style fried rice, or rice with a vegetable and a meat, or rice congee - those are biiiiig comfort food eats for me.)
Weirdly, I don't usually do an egg with rice; I'm more likely to do an egg (poached) with ramen noodles.
I don't know if you intended it, but now I'm thinking of Chili's the restaurant chain which had wonderful Tex-Mex food, and I would go with a friend and we'd eat ourselves into near-oblivion...
The last one in Australia closed some years ago, I think. Or maybe it's still there but just somewhere that it's not worth going to get some.
I'm guessing, though, that you mean 'chillies' - ie. spicy food. Which...man, I would be wrecked if I couldn't have food that was at least a little bit spicy/flavoursome: garlic, ginger, onion, pepper, chilli...
Yes to the second one! I grew up in New Mexico, and red and green chiles are so wonderful. Especially the Hatch ones. https://www.hatch-green-chile.com/
Garlic is okay, THANK GOD. I am half Hungarian so I think if I couldn't cook without garlic ever I would just wither up and die. But I can't even use cayenne powder anymore! Wooooe is me.
Oh no! Hope you get your homework thing done; I hate remembering something is due right before it's due, mostly because I like to have the time to let the thoughts seep through my head...
It's cold here and I'm tired from boxing. But my mood is pretty decent.
I wish I HAD comfort food in the house. Pat's training for an attempt to climb Mt. Whitney next summer, do comfort food has been forbidden in the house. (He has no self-control, poor guy!)
Last day of strike today, I've been feeling unmoored from my usual markers of time and will be glad to go back to work.
I've a bunch of deliveries due today, Christmas presents for assorted relatives, some of whom we're visiting tbis weekend. So I need to receive and wrap them ...
* 8 days strike action now * Action Short Of Strike (working strictly to contract, no voluntary extras) from now to April * option for more strike days next year, and (last resort) a marking & assessment boycott
The 8 days have got employers / pensions reps back to negotiating at least. I will hope for something acceptable during ASOS but pessimistically I expect to be out on strike again next Jan or Feb.

I've also been typing up some of my Mom's recipes with the aim to try her cherry squares and shortbread for Christmas.

Cold and tired is not a good combination, so it's good that you're feeling okay.
Yeah, that's hard when someone else in the house is on a food regimen and can't have extra stuff in the house.
