I've returned to the UF that I gave up writing for Christmas and New Year - partly because of Yuletide writing and partly because I've been writing a short story for a competition.
It's going slowly.
I have a giant list of MCU fics that I want to finish and feel no inspiration or drive to complete any of them - not even the wisdom to know the difference.
The only reason I've sat down to quilt has been because we have a group quilt that needs to have the blocks done - and that was only when we were in a sewing group together.
Frankly, most of my work of the last few months has been in the garden. And it feels like I'm really labouring hard. Other people just seem to cast seeds out and it all grows perfectly and I keep on having to replace plants for inexplicable reasons. *sigh*
Most of the drive for the garden has been because I'm part of the local garden tour come March and then probably again in May. I need something to show for it, one way or the other.
Anyway, I have a bed check update on the back garden - everything looks a lot neater now that I have the garden beds in, a lot more structured. And I like it. It only took me five years! And see, that's making me feel guilty, too. If I'd waited and contemplated, maybe I'd have had it all sorted out before this.
Or, you know, maybe not.
I fret a lot about not being good enough, productive enough, busy enough - not for other people's satisfaction, but to my satisfaction. B1 says that I'm an overachiever and, well, she's not wrong.
Anyway, job prospects are out the window until March at least. It's going to be a tight couple of months, all the more because I'm going on holidays from the 9th Feb through to the 28th, and maybe stay longer with my dad. Except that the garden tour is on in March and I'm going to need ALL THE TIME to repair any damage to my garden that happened in the rear end of Feb... Eesh.
To the end of making money, I wrote the short story for the competition (actually, I'm not entirely sure we get recompensed; I mean, I assume that we do because it's the RWAus and it would be bad form for them to take stories and not repay people for publishing them. I just don't know the conditions of compensation - a one-off payment or a commission/royalties system). I'm also going to put up a quilt block pattern - the Snowflake block.

Trying to get Shopify working. Themes and designs and layouts, oh my!
And then I should probably design up the pattern for Swarm By Sel.

Your pics honestly look great, remember that what people share on social media is always going to be extremely curated and selective!
Let me know if you need Shopify help, that stuff is basically my day job XD

I'm mostly !!! at the setup right now. Specifically the graphics.
I used to make easy and simple graphics with CS Paint Shop Pro - like, the really old version such as PSP4 and PSP7 and more recently X9, but the most recent version (2018)I got was horrifically unwieldy and didn't work besides, so I stopped using it. But I kind of miss being able to fiddle with graphics and layers and cut things out. MS Paint (even the new version) is not quite what I want and I never quite got the hang of PS or Illustrator.
Ugh. So setting up a logo and site background etc. is just a PITA right now.
