mystery of the ancient password

I have this file that's been password protected since 2000. I can't remember the password! I can't even recall the passwords I was using at that time.

I know that it contains character data pertaining to something that I'm trying to write right now, and it's kind of bugging me.

I don't password protect that much but I know for a fact I have a couple locked story files somewhere or other and this post came for me where I live

Oh, I hate that. I can't get into my cable tv account for that exact reason, and my secret question to allow me to change my password doesn't work anymore because it's too old. And even their technical people couldn't figure out how to get me in.
