Going to a friend's house to celebrate winter solstice: taking some home-made fruit buns, my seed collection, and some handsewing. Wondering if I should take a quilt. Maybe take the picnic one.

For some reason, I have "On the day of the dead when the year, too, dies..." in my head. Wrong time of year.

It's Juneteenth in the USA, and while I'd heard the term before, I only really learned what it was signifying this week. Happy Juneteenth to the true soul-citizens of the lands of the free, where all people are truly held to be equal.
