Smokey isn't feeling well. She vomited five times on Friday - first two were normal with food, last three were mostly liquid.

She didn't eat anything that night, just went to bed.

Saturday, she barely ate again, although we tempted her with cat treats in the afternoon, drank a little

Today, she's not eating again - cat treats, some water, but otherwise not hungry.

B1 took her to the vet (on a Sunday), they checked her over, palpated her stomach and said she probably has a furball irritating her stomach. They gave her an anti-nausea shot and said she'll probably want something to eat tonight, but when she got home, she was hungry.

Vet visit went pretty well, Smokes is not in the habit of doing vets very well - the usual vet occasions yowling and 'cuss words' and all kind of crossness, but because this was a new vet - one that's open on a Sunday - she was better behaved. Didn't freak out quite as fast or as much. *sigh*

Anyway, she's now sitting in the sun seemingly quite happy. Hopefully whatever was annoying her stomach will have passed in the next 24 hours and she'll be all right again. After the chooks, I'm very nervous about household pets.

Oh, no, poor kitty. Do you do petromalt or its equivalent? If we don't put it on Shakti's paws regularly, she gets vomiting issues with hairballs. Maybe it could help? (please disregard if hlepy)

Almost the exact same thing happened to one of our cats yesterday. He seems fine today, so hopefully Smokey will be fine, too.

Oh nooo, poor kitty! Hopefully she recovers quickly though. There are laxative gels that may help with future hairballs (looks like they must be similar to petromalt mentioned above?), but your vet may have mentioned them already - if not I can tell you what the brands are.

It was good to see you for five minutes yesterday XD

Some cats are just more likely to get them, unfortunately. The two gels are Aristopet Cat Laxative and Troy LaxaPet, they're really easy to get online or you can find them in a pet shop. There are a few hairball control foods out there too, but I know how hard it is to change a cat's diet.

Fingers crossed for her continued recovery!

Poor Smokey. I hope whatever it is passes quickly and she's feeling better.
