It's crazy how many people like you, who live in OTHER COUNTRIES, are watching this election so closely. Shows the impact our asshole has made on everyone. :P

Yes, I'm in Australia and the Australian ABC news [our equivalent to NPR] has been full of the US election!

My partner and I have been biting our nails about the US election

a) we both know and like people in the US, and want them not to die from COVID

b) we both want a US president who will do something about climate change...

Gently, it only seems crazy because you don't haveto pay attention to the choice of any leader in any other country. In much the same way a white person generally doesn't have to present unthreatening the way a black person does, or the way men don't have to pay attention to their surroundings the way women do.

*sigh* Yeah, I know. It's just strange to think about, rather the way to stop and realize just how much privilege one has had, that our country has so much impact over so many other parts of the world. Honestly, I feel like we SHOULD pay much more attention to national-level politics going on elsewhere, but America tends to be just so self-centered with news. :P

I would recommend The Guardian (news) for centrist-slight-left UK and Australian news as well as stories of decent length and reasonable thinkpieces about topics of interest.
