Temperature today is slated to get to 39C in Sydney. It's 10am and it's hot out there.

I have run around feeding and watering everything that needs feeding and watering this morning, and come midday, I'll check on everything again, because it's going to be crazy hot. Now I'm sitting in the study with the curtains closed and the external shade at half-mast, writing, because that's about all that I can manage right now.

I saw today that you guys are having a hell of a heat wave! I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you can stay cool.

Compared with last year, this is a very short heatwave. And we're grateful for the shortness!

But yes, rather hotter and less great than is comfortable.

Oh, ICK. Do you have aircon at home? If not, how hot is it indoors? Hope you can submerge yourself in a cool bath or something!

We have an aircon unit, but it's only in one room. Fans are mostly keeping us sane...

That sounds like gingi-melting temperatures. I hope your garden is okay.

Automated watering systems, mulching, and good water retention has saved most plants. A couple of beans died, alas, and I have to see if I still have replacements for them in the seedling trays - but otherwise most nearly everything was decently watered amd kept.

Although I probably should have bucketed some water to the corn last night. Bother.
