It's 10:15am and I'm already starting to feel a creeping exhaustion.

I did have a busy day yesterday - 3 hours spent travelling around a section of town picking things up and swapping stuff.

And then 4 hours of a garden club start-of-year meeting. Which was excellent and thorough and good to have all on the table, but also longer than I expected. Also, I love my VP - she's a go-getter - but she also tends to make a meeting rather longer by bringing up whatever she wants to say right as it comes to mind. Which derails a discussion something awful. Going to have to keep that in mind and also gently make sure that we keep the conversation in line in future.

I'm pretty sure I am coming down with something - probably a resurgence of No, Not That Virus, My Own Private Ugh For The Last Eleven Months. The resurgence probably has to do with not actually resting enough lately. Start of year means DO ALL THE THINGS. And hockey training begins this Tuesday.

I have hired someone to do the lawn this morning and he's expensive but being really thorough. And seems to be pretty careful of my plantings! But no, sir, I do not intend to let you treat my weeds with glyphosate. I don't actually mind the weeds too much, I just give the outliers a hand-pull every now and then.

Interesting point: there was a mention of possible 'guerilla gardening' in my local area, where people were thinking of making verge gardens. And I've been thinking of a 'community garden' out between my front fence and the street where basic herbs are available - parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme, chives and lemongrass, maybe a chilli plant, possibly a few other herbs? I have a garden bed frame that is low and small and would serve the purpose admirably, and so long as it's not blocking any driveway views or being a trip hazard, it should be pretty manageable. Then we'd just need nobody to complain to council about it...

Work is incredibly stressful right now. System patches which are bad enough, but also an upgrade and the realisation that this is a lot more difficult than I expected and my next few weeks are going to be pretty crazy.

And on top of this, I still have my chocobox to write. And all I want to end the story with is He didn't think marriage was appropriate given her status. She asked if he wanted to be the foremost of her concubines. He took marriage.

Ooo, I hate people who extend meetings with extraneous talk. But then, I hate meetings. So anyone who makes it longer is on my shit list. (grin)

That is an excellent ending. :)

I hear basil and oregano are fairly forgiving to grow. Possibly lavender and cilantro? (Which I think is coriander to you.) Dill? An herb garden can be very aesthetically pleasing, particularly if you separate the plants into little plots with paving stones or something similar, which might reduce the possibility of people complaining to the council.

*hugs* for the stress.

FWIW, I managed to just barely get my CB fic in last night. Barely.
