There are so many bits and pieces that I want to get done around this place.

In descending order of expense...

1. Add two rooms, split level. One that will be a shorter, deeper storeroom or cold cellar, another that will be higher and more airy - another study, really. We'd move B1 to the present study/workroom, cannibalise B1's room so that the corridor extended to the end of the house, make a little 'nook' where B2 could sleep when she comes over, and make a new study in the south west upper corner of the house.

2. Take off the outside cladding on the house, strip off the asbestos, and put insulation on the walls. Re-clad with weatherboard.

3. Redo kitchen for more space.

4. Get dishwasher.

#1 and #2 are pretty much inextricably linked. If we're going to add a room to the house, why not do the insulation? If we're going to do the insulation, why not redo the house anyway? Saves us doing it all and having to redo it later...

#3 includes #4.

#4 can be done all on its own. Well, we will probably need to redo the kitchen tap. And we'll lose some benchspace (and possibly gain it up on top of the dishwasher?) but...we'll also gain benchspace from not having the dishes everywhere, a slow crawl

I think I'm going to have to do #4. I really am not coping with the washing up. And after seeing a friend's benchtop dishwasher on the weekend... Yes. Going to do it.

Although will probably have to redo the kitchen sink tap. It's been leaking and not doing well for a while... But that can be done, possibly even without a plumber? I just hope we don't have to replace the entire kitchen sink...

I am terribly spoiled for fruit since I started growing my own. I had a lovely white peach this morning for breakfast, and while it was sweet, it wasn't flavoursome. Mind you, it's sat on the benchtop for the last...10 days, and it hasn't turned to mush. So...transportability is obviously a thing.
