Sometimes comments on old WIPs make me want to finish them. Actually, reading through old WIPs makes me want to finish them.

Stories that I really wish I'd finished:

• The Astonishing Persistence Of Memory: Future Tense - SGA, Team, John/Teyla
• A Practical Acquaintance With Bees - MCU, Maria Hill, Steve/Maria
• Dark Queen Ascending - Jupiter Ascending, Jupiter, Jupiter/Caine
• Chosen One - Angel, The Fang Gang + Faith
• Mako Mori and The Eleventy-One Thousand Bridezillas - Pacific Rim, Mako, Mako/Raleigh
• Love Story - Harry Potter, Rose/Scorpius

And so many more.

I have one unfinished story. I keep thinking that someday I'll finish it. But I don't know. it's been a decade or two now. (grin)

Part of it is that I've moved on from those fandoms. Part of it is that I don't feel the push anymore, or I got derailed by the next shiny thing, or not enough people seemed to love what I was doing...

For me it's just that I got SO involved in my own original writing - plays and a novel and some short stories - that I have never really found the time.

Maybe when I retire I'll do it.

Getting so involved in your own original writing is very cool, so it's not a terrible thing that you didn't have the time.

Sometimes I feel like I spent the best of me on fanfic.

NO! Don't think of it as that. It helped me cut my teeth on fiction. It was a good learning ground. You never know what you might do in the future. You're young, yet!

For me, it's almost always a case of "I don't know what's coming next" and that's why I stopped writing in the first place.
