Trying to remember what I did this weekend.

I read 3 of the Hunter's Guild books by Nalini Singh over the weekend. Archangel's War and Archangel's Sun, which are the newest two. TBH, I got tired of the story arc which seemed to be moving incredibly slowly: two steps forward, one step back, so I stopped reading them, but still had them purchased. Finally got around to finishing them.

The next one is out at the end of October, so it seems like a good time to re-read the series. Which I started with Angel's Blood this morning and afternoon. I'm going to start reading Archangel's Kiss tonight.

I don't actually know if the next one is going to be a m/m novel or not. Don't spoil me on this; I don't actually want to know, it won't make me read or avoid the book and I'd like to be surprised. But the hints of Illium/Aodhan have been there if you've got slash goggles, or can be read as a friendship if you don't. Singh freely uses the word 'love' to include agape, philios, and storge, not just the modern expectation of eros, and that works for me. But Singh doesn't do m/m so far as I know, and I am doubtful that the publishing imprint would openly go for it. We'll see, either way.

Anyway, tomorrow is...another work day. Getting things done. I hope. I feel like I've been stupidly slow with work stuff the last few weeks.

Also, I need to sort out holidays in November - at least a week, maybe two. I'd actually like to stay in Sydney, just go somewhere 'different' for a break. Also, so I don't get so easily distracted by everything in my house. Need to consult with the sister about going away.

Have you ever read any of Tom Sniegoski's books? He did this wonderful series with an archangel who took the human name of Remy Chandler. It starts with DANCING ON THE HEAD OF A PIN. I loved those books. He has taken human form, has married, and works as a private detective. I love the way the series deals with the whole idea of angels and heaven and hell. It's really cool.
