There, there, it's okay. Not everyone died - just some people. And it was a Necessary Evil to show that War Is Not Pretty And People Sometimes Die.

I get the Great Moral Lesson On Death and my logical self agrees with it, but my emotional self was seriously attached to many of those characters. However, I do trust that fic will make it better.
I did enjoy it, despite the copious death. I particularly enjoyed the extended camping, although a friend of mine found that section boring.
