for my birthday party

It will be held at another time of year when it is hopefully sunnier and warmer and drier, and possibly when my parents are not in the country and my sister is minding their cat.

I will call it a Pinterest Potluck Party, and send my friends to my 'nommy' pin board and ask them to make a recipe of their choice from there. There's the intensely complicated (baklava tart) and the very simple (10 minute biscuits!). There's the savoury (7-layer Superbowl Dip) and the sweet. The vegetarian and the meatlovers. Gluten free, egg-free, milk-free, whatever. Anything and everything for everyone!

Of course, it would never work. We'd all end up with potato salad or something. Nobody would come. They certainly wouldn't bring "7-layer Superbowl Dip"...

If I'd thought of this a month ago, I could have made it work, I guess. Alas, for it will be another 6 years before my birthday lands on a Saturday again...
