Gakked from [personal profile] spiffikins:

1. Where would you like to retire to?
Right here in my own house. Alternatively, on a semi-rural property of at least half an acre.

2. Do you play online multiplayer games?
Nope. Never got into gaming of any kind. The closest I got was playing Civilisation II back in the day, but I kind of tired of that. And then I got into fanfic.

3. What is the longest you have ever slept?
Not entirely sure - maybe 12 hours? The latest I've ever slept in was until midday once. That's pretty rare for me - I'm usually up with the sun.

4. Who was the last person you called?
My mother, according to my phone history. There's been a few calls between lately.

5. What was the last amusement park ride you went on?
I don't remember. I don't go to amusement parks very often, and the last time I went a decade and change ago. It might be Tower Of Terror at California Dreaming?

6. What is your favorite brand of pens?
Should I know the brands of my pens? IDK. I like Artlines - felt-tips, kilometricos are great biros - also BIC. POSCA paint pens are great for writing on anything that felt-tips don't work, or for thicker-line designs, but I love gel pens for things like cards and decorative designs. It's a mixed and complicated bag.

7. What is the biggest waste of energy in your life right now?
Emotionally: fretting about what other people think of me. Physically: refreshing the 'resale tickets' for the Matildas game on Wednesday.

8. Do you set an alarm to wake up?
I did when I had to catch a train to go into work. These days, working from home? No. I'll wake up and be out of bed before I have to work. Usually. Lately it's been difficult.

9. What was the longest train ride you've been on?
The Ghan, from Adelaide in the south of Australia, up through the Red Centre of the country to Alice Springs, then up to Darwin where we got off. Just over 2 days of travel by train - around 54 hours, travelling 2,979km (1,851 miles). It was awesome. Someday I'd love to do the Indian-Pacific, which goes across Australia - apparently that's around 75 hours.

Next down from that would likely be the train between Sydney and Melbourne, which was (I think) about 12 hours, 900km, and which I did in February 2020.

10. What's the silliest thing you've believed, that turned out to be untrue?
That I could be a published author.

My little European mind is blown by the idea of spending 3 days on a train and... still being in the same country. To me, it's honestly mind-boggling. But also sounds very cool
Like, it would take less than 2 days to get to Moscow on a train from London and you'd have to change 8 or 10 times.

The original Civilization is still one of my favorite games ever! I haven't really done all that much gaming after that either.

"I'm usually up with the sun."
Same! :D

Gel pens are awesome! I like pens in general, but I think literally all of the ones I have right now are no-name dollar store 'brands'. xD

And damn, I love trains sfm, I wish I could be on one for 2 days! ♡ (I've done 12-ish hours many times, but not anything longer than that.)
