Challenge #13: Make a rec list of fanworks!
All fic, because that's my primary medium for fannishness.
My Brother's Keeper by rain_sleet_snow
Star Wars (Original Trilogy), Leia & Luke
I mentioned my childhood fanfic idea of 'Luke turns to the dark side and Leia has to save her brother and the galaxy' and rain_sleet_snow turned it into a fic!
It's so good; well-written, well-characterised, sparing in detail but giving us some beautiful moments – also Amilyn Holdo and Ahsoka turn up and the refrain is *heartbreak*.

Six Things That Changed In A Sedoretu, And One Thing That Didn't by beatrice otter
BSG 2003, Dee/Lee/Kara/Anders sedoretu
My gift in the recent
sedoretuexchange. I've always been a wee smidge grumpy about how BSG ended, most particularly regarding Lee, Kara, Anders, and Dee, and all the more given that the TV show Caprica showed polyamory being recognised only couple of generations earlier.
This story weaves its way through the tail end of the series, marking out the high points of the plot, the ebb and flow of relationships, and giving more of our main characters a decent ending.

a wild quiet thing by martyrsdaughter
Psy-Changeling – Nalini Singh, Beatrice Gault/Kit Monahan
I threw an off-hand, completely out-there pairing request out one Yuletide and received this most delightful response to it – 17K of friends-to-lovers!
If you don't know the series, it probably won't make much sense, but, oh, I felt for Bea in Shards of Hope and I really liked the idea of her and Kit meeting and becoming friends with the strong potential for more.

Cold Storage by glorious_clio
Rogue One, original character, whoTF did the risk analysis on Scarif?
In Rogue One, the facility for archiving the data on the Death Star plans? Is stupid. It's bloody idiotic, ridiculously fragile, and it's the repository of knowledge for a GALACTIC EMPIRE????
This story delightfully explains that Scarif was 100% intentional. The date of the fic was timely and also helpful: resistance comes in many forms, and sometimes it is simply a determined refusal to do things well.

Get Ready For It by Philyra
MCU, Hockey AU, Pepper Potts & Maria Hill & Natasha Romanoff (primarily)
Pepper Potts inherits the New York Knights hockey team, and aims to win the Stanley Cup. This is a whole series of fics, the first from Pepper's POV, then a story from Maria's POV, then a few extras, one from Nat... It's a delightful hockey AU and a big comfort read every time.
--
On Our Own Two Feet by Niitza
Rogue One/Andor fic, Cassian/Jyn, lots of the characters from Andor, K2SO and B2EMO
I think someone off my flist recced this, and although I haven't watched Andor, I got enough of the gist of the background characters to really enjoy this 'everyone lives' story with that fine thread of comedic humour running through the midst of it.
--
The Spirit And The Shield by shorti
MCU, Maria/Steve
A set of stories about the interactions between Maria and Steve in the early days of the Avengers. Such good interactions in those days!
--
Alternatively you can just work your way through my AO3 bookmarks; I almost always leave a note or two to remind myself of why I liked the story in question, so it's not just a 'click and hope for the best' situation.
